good things

It's a lovely Friday here in Seattle. The sun is OUT and I feel happy. A few things that are making me happy today:

  • Clyde found out today that he got into his top choice for grad school. I am very happy for him.
  • I finally got the go-ahead to get a cleaner for our house. As much as I'd like to be a domestic goddess, I am not. (Hello, I work full-time, go to school, and spend the rest of my time planning weddings. There are not enough hours in the day to also scrub toilets). She wants to meet us first though before she commits. So we scheduled to interview with her on Tuesday. I hope we pass.
  • Tomorrow is the Solstice Parade. Last year, my neighbor Jenn threw an awesome party which started with Nalgene bottles full of mimosa and ended with us scarfing down some Taco Bell (always a sign of inebriation). We also semi-crashed a party with an actual pig roasting on a spit on the front lawn. This year, I will take more photos of the nekkid paraders, but try to restrain myself when it comes to the drink. I vaguely remember the aftermath of that day being not as enjoyable.
  • The Vaselines are playing the Sub Pop 20th Anniversary Festival. The Vaselines are one of those bands that I'd given up all hope of ever seeing perform live. And yet, in a few weeks, I will be rocking out to "Son of a Gun" live. How cool is that?
  • It is Friday. Yay!

a few things

Apologies for my absence of late. I have been bogged down with my final project for school which just finished up yesterday. Soon you shall see the fruits of my labor once our shiny new website for the wedding business goes live. Until then, you will just have to take me at my word.

As evidence of my extreme fatigue in which I dream about CSS even in my sleep, today I drove thirty-minutes to a wedding meeting. The only problem was I got to the meeting 24-hours early. I guess I put my stupid pants on today. My smarty pants must be in the wash. At least it wasn't a total wash as I got treated to the sounds of a lovely bagpipe in the time it took the venue manager to inform me the meeting is tomorrow.

Clyde has taken to exclaiming in a British accent, "Hey look it's the guy from Coldplay" anytime we hear or see Coldplay. At first it was funny. Now it is just not. I think he wishes "Extras" would come back and begin filming new episodes again. Either that or he is wishing for an early death.
